New Business Development Executive

Permanent 9am – 5.30pm
£15,000 – £20,000 plus commission (dependant on experience)
Pension and 22 days holiday


The priority is to assist the Company in acquiring new customers, a crucial role achieved by developing markets and Company portfolio for continued growth for the Company.


  • Identifying new sales leads
  • Pitch products and/or services to new leads either by cold calls or email
  • Prospecting new clients and approaching relevant person
  • Researching organisations and individuals (including online press releases, google, linkedin if
    relevant) to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Research the needs of other companies and learn who makes decisions about purchasing
  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and set up meetings for the sales team
  • Ask questions to understand customer requirements and make appointments
  • Work with potential clients to develop a deep understanding of their needs and translate those needs in to product requirements that satisfy their demands
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the service and support offered by the Company and how it relates to the potential clients needs
  • Ensure that personal sales targets are met
  • Develop quotes and proposals
  • Document all activities and report periodically to Managing Director
  • General role specific admin as required

Job brief

We are looking for an enthusiastic New Business Development Executive to contribute in generating sales for our company. You will be responsible for contacting potential customers with the aim of generating appointments for the Sales Team along with maintaining good customer relationships.

An effective New Business Development Executive must be an excellent communicator and have superior people skills. They must be comfortable presenting products or services over the phone as well as dealing with complaints and doubts.

The goal is to help the company grow by bringing in customers and developing business.


  • Proven experience as Telesales Representative or New Business Development Executive
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quota preferably over the phone
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems
  • Ability to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to prospects
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Cool-tempered and able to handle rejection
  • Outstanding negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints
  • Education to A level or BTEC/GNVQ level or higher
